THE PROBLEM

In the past 6 years Surgery Partners had gone public, merged with other companies, moved offices, and experienced tremendous growth. Everything had changed but their website.
Surgery Partners owns and operates surgery centers all over the United States, and are one of the largest surgical care businesses in the country. They needed a corporate website that focused on who they were as a company. It needed to be targeted towards people that they might be doing business with: doctors, vendors, investors and potential employees.

Visual explorations

I worked with the Surgery Partners marketing team to establish a visual direction for the site. I turned to business magazines for inspiration, and started iterating through several possible directions.

Branding through imagery

Since the layout was going to be pretty minimal, there needed a way to bring the feel of the Surgery Partners brand back into the site. I color corrected each photo, then took the surgery partners color palette, blurred it, and overlaid it on the images. This was a subtle attempt at bringing the Surgery Partners brand into the site through imagery.

Prototyping animations

We experimented with different load-in effects and subtle animations. I used Framer for prototyping, this gave us a sharable link that could be shared with project stakeholders.

Visual design

After a visual direction was established, we worked with a contract developer to build out the front-end. Together we fine tuned animations and visual details. From there  the front-end code was implemented into Surgery Partners CMS.

01. Homepage

Surgery Partners had a video they wanted to feature in the masthead. Beneath that, is the find a location component – useful for doctors, vendors, or potential investors.

02. About us

The about us page was condensed from four different pages on the old Surgery Partners site. We turned those into four different sections within one consistent narrative.

03. Partnerships

Similar to the 'About Us' pages, we combined and edited content from four different pages.

04. Investors

For the investors section, we reskinned tools provided by the NASDAQ, built out a front-end prototype, then worked with the NASDAQ to implement the back-end.
